How to Unlock Equipment in Warlord: Awaji

Verified for Pre-release Instant Action playtest · 2026-09-08
In the playtest, equipment options open through character progression: earn XP, level up, then re-check the equipment menu. The tutorial confirms that leveling unlocks more equipment, but it does not support a reliable public table for every weapon, armor piece, horse, bow or Retainer level. Avoid fixed unlock claims until the release build is verified.

The unlock method that is actually confirmed

The tutorial says combat XP raises your level and unlocks more equipment options in the main menu. The developer also described Instant Action as having a simple progression system where higher levels grant access to more advanced armor and weapons.

That is enough to answer how unlocks happen, but not enough to publish a permanent level table.

What you should not trust yet

Do not treat any of these as settled unless the full release confirms them:

Some playtest creators guessed about those thresholds while exploring the menu. Guessing is not an unlock requirement.

Fastest reliable progression routine

  1. Play the objective and take clean fights.
  2. Earn XP from confirmed combat actions.
  3. Level up.
  4. Return to the equipment menu.
  5. Compare the newly available options rather than relying on memory.

Why the release build matters

The Steam store describes a full campaign with individual warriors, advanced weapons and armor, ranged troops and cavalry. That is a broader equipment ecosystem than the melee-focused combat slice. The release build can therefore change both the available gear and the progression context around it.
